The Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education (HFEE) is a non-profit 501 (C)(3) corporation founded in June 1993. The organization, a group of volunteers, is dedicated to improving the quality of education for HUFSD children.
The Huntington Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of education, the arts and athletics. From state-of-the-art technology and equipment to cutting-edge teaching techniques, the educator-generated grants we fund expand the students’ curriculum as well as their enthusiasm for learning.
HFEE recently received a grant from The Townwide Fund of Huntington. Alice Marie Rorke, the organization’s president and her intern, Francine Nastasi along with Susan Lyons Vice President of Grants, went to the Harvest Night for the Townwide Fund of Huntington on October, 3rd 2017. It was truly an amazing experience and I’m looking forward to being the HFEE intern this year” said Francine Nastasi.
The Harvest Night was celebrated at Launch Pad in Huntington Village, where thirty five local charities came together to celebrate a bounty of generosity. It was an invitation only event where $204,100 was distributed for programs benefiting our neighbors in need, including our very own HFEE organization. The grant is specifically earmarked for the Greenkill Fund which allows every child in the district to attend this incredible nature camp expeience regardless of economic disadvantage. “This is the third consecutive year that the Townwide Fund has generously supported HFEE and the Greenkill Fund. We couldn’t be more proud and grateful to the Townwide Fund and it’s amazing leadership and board of directors”, said Susan Lyons.
